
Price quotes
When we begin, we'll talk or exchange e-mail with you about your project and review your manuscript. For small projects, we will provide a price quote for the work that you want us to do. For more complicated projects we'll prepare a proposal for the work that we suggest, including key milestones and our estimate of the overall price. There is no charge or obligation for requesting a price quote.
Upper limits
Our price quote will include an hourly rate and an estimate of the number of hours that we will need to complete the work. We'll also quote an upper cost limit for you. We have been working with manuscripts for a long time and our estimates are quite accurate, but sometimes projects develop complications. When that happens, we will advise you when we approach the upper limit. We'll tell you where we are and how many more hours we expect it will take to complete the job, and you'll tell us how you want us to proceed. Your final bill will never be a surprise.
Agreements
When you approve our price quote, we'll ask you to sign an agreement. The agreement helps to ensure that you know what you will receive in return for your payment.
Payment
We accept payment by check, money order, or wire transfer. Surcharges apply for wire transfer. For large projects that last several months, a payment schedule will be part of our agreement.
